Frequently Asked Questions

What does a copywriting engagement look like?

My job is to move the needle for your company, so I like to conduct anywhere from 2 - 3 interviews with various team members.

I will also request all marketing and sales materials, review them, and perform additional background research.

After that, I will write my copy and deliver a first draft. I provide 3 rounds of edits for every project.

Note: Most projects I deliver typically require one or two rounds of small edits.

Which copywriters do you study regularly?

I feel like the marketplace is flooded with “copywriting gurus.” The copywriters I study have proven results via direct mail.

The stakes are high in direct mail due to the printing, postage, and fulfillment costs. This is why direct response marketers test EVERYTHING before a mailing.

Some of the copywriters I study include Gary Bencivenga, John Caples, Gary Halbert, Bond Halbert, David Ogilvy, and Bob Bly to name a few.

Do you work on an ad-hoc basis?

I like to tell my customers our first project is a proof of concept. If we’re both happy with how things went, we can move forward with the remaining projects.

Due to the number of requests I get, I do not perform one-off projects for companies. However, I can direct you to some other freelance copywriters if you have a last-minute project.

What are your timelines for sending the first draft?

I tell everyone starting off that my turnaround time is 1 - 3 weeks. I normally return my projects earlier, depending on my work volume.

What is your pricing model?

I charge per project. To get an estimate, please submit a request using my contact form.

How can we pay you?

My customers pay me via Gusto, Bill.com, or ACH. I do not accept credit cards.

What are your payment terms?

All invoices are due in 10 days. If your company pays invoices in net 30 days, I will have to factor this into my pricing.
